It's Groundhog Day!!

Happy Groundhog Day!

Groundhog Day has its origins in several European Countries.  In Germany, hedgehogs predicted the weather in early February.  When German immigrants settled in Pennsylvania, they transferred the tradition to wise groundhogs--a hibernator, like the hedgehog.  In 1887, the first "trek" to Gobbler's Knob officially began the new American tradition.

You can visit the official website (and watch replays of the forecast!) here.

Are you celebrating?

We'll be finishing some groundhog art with a Spring theme (did I mention...no shadow today!), making a "Will the groundhog be right?" opinion graph, and playing outside in our sunny Houston "Spring!"

I may share at any of these parties!
